beginning of the day

If there is poetry in my book about the sea it is not because I deliberately put it there but because no one could write truthfully about the sea and leave poetry out.
~Rachel Carson

Going outdoors first thing in the morning is something I adore especially because I seem to accomplish more in the day with such a start. The past few weekends have been spent exploring new and old spots in the earlier hours. These were taken at an old favourite location, Golden Gardens.

  1. Oh, wow, I really love this quote, and completely agree. Yesterday was so full it left me starting today slowly and I have not been outside. A disgrace. Off I go.

  9. These poles must have been built for people's utility. Though they have finished their first role, they still can catch visitor's eye and fill someone's mind with a desire of accomplish. Originally, poles were built by human, but now they stand by themselves and are accomplishing their own job.

Rachel Carson is one of my favorite nature writers (her book, a sense of wonder, is my alltime favorite and inspired me to go in field trips in the woods and other nature places with my children)
