dream

Nothing happens unless first a dream.
~Carl Sandburg

Poets have such an elegant way of saying things like Sandburg's words above.  I love writing down a line or memorizing it as a keepsake from poetry read.  Dreams have been on my mind lately.  Change has been happening these past few months and it makes me reflect even more about things I'd like to try and do.  Sometimes the first steps of a dream are the hardest, but what a wonderful feeling it is to continue into new territory.

  1. dreams have been on my mind as well. dreams of the future and the sleeping kind! i'm in a dream writing class and my professor lectured on some of carl jung's crazy ideas of dreams today... one interesting thing I learned was that he thought the earliest dream we can remember having is what explains our whole lives. it's interesting to try and remember your earliest dream & decipher it! i'd like to turn that memory into a poem somehow.

  4. Your post gives me that much needed strength because change is what I've been battling with for the past few months. I, too, have the habit of preserving lines; 'brain fuel' I call my collection!
Good luck for the new territory.

  5. Writing down really helps to crystallise thought… love the wax-like quality to these.

  7. And you are very poetic too! reflection is always a good way to prepare for changes, sometimes you just have to take a step back
