gathering

Recently while reading a close friends blog, I noticed she started a theme of saying what she was thankful for each day.  I love the idea of taking time to identify the things that are meaningful whether small or big in our lives.  There now sits a glass mason jar on my kitchen table that I am filling each day with thoughts jotted on scraps of paper.  This morning I added a simple one:  I am thankful for the beauty of Autumn leaves.  Happy Friday.

This is worthy of the repeat button...

  4. that's wonderful, alexandria. i think it's important to be thankful. i saw a quote somewhere and it said, "gratitude is a form of prayer." i think it's quite true.

  9. I'm so thankful for autumn leaves too. I love that slightly overwhelming feeling you get when you're suddenly surrounded by bright orange. I'm thankful that we can still be surprised by something that happens every year.

  11. Ah...two years ago, Cree and I started a blessing journal. Everynight before bed, we take turns writing something we are grateful. It has been such a lovely way to end our day. I love your idea as well. I find I am happier when I am grateful. :)

    What a lovely post.
