The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event.  You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?  ~John Boynton Priestly

My front yard is a mixture of all things good weather wise.  I love the fun surprise of snow just before Thanksgiving.  As promised, here is a list of the food I'm making for Thursday: Brie and Basil Stuffed Turkey Breast - Cauliflower, Carrots, and Broccoli with Parsley and Vinegar - Broth-Braised Potatoes - Pumpkin Stuffed with Everything Good - and Apple Cheesecake.  Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. i love the quote. there is definitely something magical about the first snow. i often find myself running to the window and staring at the untouched snow-field in the morning after the first snow fall.

Ah! So delightful. So true, I imagine (coming from where there is no snow and Christmas falls in the season of summer).

  21. what a lovely, lovely pic.

we had our first snow here just recently. very early in the morning i had to cycle to work, the snow was drifting on a little wind and i was going downhill. when i got there, i had big smudges of mascara on my face. memorable morning. lovely in fact.

  22. It is definitely enchantment. Your Thanksgiving dinner must have been wonderful. Your choices look excellent. I love the way Broccoli with Parsley and Vinegar rolls off the tongue, and I don't even like parsley. Did you somehow create falling snow in your photograph or am I losing my mind?

  23. Denise: It was a lovely dinner and I so enjoyed being able to cook and bake. I really hope that you had a wonderful holiday too. I promise you aren't losing your mind! There is snow...I found the html code for it today and thought it might be fun for December on the photographs.
