  5. Celine: Picture books count I promise! I often read a pile in the bookshop.

Ida: Oh neat! I'm curious about them and next month it's the book pick from one of my book club members. I hope it's not too scary, eep!

Char: Dodie Smith is a great writer and I've read I Capture the Castle too!

ms. oaktree: That title is intriguing. I'm adding it to my list to look into, thank you!

  8. I long for "the quiet murmur of the city." The city was feeling very loud this morning. I walked down to the bay to listen to the waves and thought of waking in the middle of the night for a quiet stroll. I'm reading The Summer Book. It is a very sweet and honest story of a young girl and her grandmother spending the summer on an island.

  10. Alison: Thank you!

Barbara: The Waiter looks highly funny for sure!

Denise: A night stroll sounds like bliss, I like your idea. You've made my jaw drop open in a good way because the other day I picked up The Summer Book and have read a few of the stories...it's lovely so far.

jenna: Ooh! This is one on my shelf that I haven't gotten to, but should. Thank you for the rec and yes, Amélie is amazing indeed!
